Manchester Airport Driver Meet and Greet: What to Confirm

Published 1 October 2026

By Airport Transfers 365

Driver meet and greet means meeting your pre-booked transfer driver at an agreed arrivals location before walking to the vehicle. Confirm that it is included in your reservation, where the meeting takes place and how to contact the operator. It is a different service from airport Meet & Greet parking.

The same phrase is used for two travel arrangements, which can cause confusion. A passenger booking transport home needs instructions for meeting a driver. A motorist booking parking needs instructions for leaving their own car. Check which service your confirmation describes.

Driver meet and greet versus airport parking

With a transfer, you are travelling as a passenger in the booked vehicle. The meeting arrangement concerns finding your driver after your flight and reaching the vehicle’s authorised collection location.

With Meet & Greet parking, you take your own car to a booked parking service. That reservation concerns your car’s storage and collection. Reserving parking does not automatically reserve a taxi home, and booking a transfer does not reserve airport parking.

When requesting a quote, say “driver meet and greet for an airport transfer” if that is what you need. Ask whether the driver will meet inside arrivals or whether the booking uses a designated vehicle pickup point.

What Airport Transfers 365 says about arrivals meetings

The Airport Transfers 365 FAQs describe an arrivals meeting with a name board when Meet & Greet is selected. The page also advises keeping the mobile number supplied during booking switched on.

Confirm the exact meeting instructions for your flight and terminal. Do not rely on a generic reference to an information desk without checking the booking confirmation. Terminal layouts and operational arrangements can change.

Send the information needed for a clear meeting

  • The final inbound flight number and UK arrival date.
  • The passenger’s name or the agreed name-board wording.
  • A reachable mobile number for the arrival day.
  • The full passenger and luggage count.
  • Any assistance or child-seat arrangements already confirmed.

For someone travelling on your behalf, make sure they receive the confirmation too. A driver cannot resolve a meeting easily if the only contact details belong to a booker who is unavailable.

Save the operator’s contact number and meeting instructions before the flight. If your phone number changes or roaming will not work, agree an alternative way to communicate in advance.

Understand the walk from arrivals to the vehicle

Meeting inside the terminal does not mean the vehicle can wait at any door. Manchester Airport has designated collection areas. Ask where the vehicle will be parked and whether the route suits your passengers and luggage.

If walking distance, lifts or mobility needs matter, raise those details before confirming. Driver meet and greet is not automatically the same as airport passenger assistance or an agreement to provide a wheelchair-accessible vehicle.

Follow current signs and the instructions in your reservation. Avoid arranging an informal roadside collection that conflicts with the airport’s designated pickup rules.

Check waiting time and delays

Ask when included waiting begins, how much is included and what happens if passport checks or luggage collection take longer. Also ask how flight delays affect the meeting. These are related questions, but they are not necessarily covered by the same terms.

If you cannot reach the meeting point as expected, contact the operator. If your flight is cancelled or diverted, get a revised arrangement confirmed rather than assuming the original reservation covers another airport or another day.

What to do if you cannot find your driver

Stay at the agreed meeting point where practical and call the booking contact. Explain your terminal and the nearby sign or landmark. If asked to move, repeat the new location back so both sides share the same plan.

Before travelling, verify the booking with the driver using the reservation details. If anything does not match your confirmation, contact the operator for clarification.

Meet and greet FAQs

Is driver meet and greet included in every transfer?

Check your quote and confirmation. A pre-booked ride and an inside-arrivals meeting are not automatically the same arrangement.

Will the driver use a name board?

Airport Transfers 365 describes this for selected Meet & Greet bookings. Confirm the name-board wording and meeting location for your reservation.

Does meet and greet include airport assistance?

Do not assume it. Airport assistance must be arranged separately through the appropriate airline or travel agent process.

Can I choose a different meeting point after landing?

Contact the operator first. The replacement location must be agreed and suitable for collection.

Confirm the arrivals arrangement before travel

Ask Airport Transfers 365 about driver meet and greet, or use the booking form and check the meeting service shown in your confirmation.
